Zōsaku

Zōsaku (造作) – n – the interior phase of construction that comes after “tatekata”, and starts with the constructing of majikiri and various shitaji, and includes any and all decorative surfaces, staircases, shelving, flooring, trimming, etc. Zōsaku ends when all that needs to be done is the wallpapering and final cleaning before being handed over to the client (in some cases however, there are shelving units and such that need to be installed after the wallpapering). Zōsaku in most cases, does not include plumbing, gas, electrical, or the house-exterior.
