Shakoman (シャコ万) – A “C” or “G” clamp or vise used in woodworking and other related fields. There are many uses depending on the field of work, ranging from a secure hold on a single object to allow work to be done on it, to holding 2 or more objects together to allow work to be done on them simultaneously. They can also be used to hold 2 or more objects together after glue is applied to securely hold them together until the glue dries, such as a door or piece of furniture.
There are many lengths and types to accommodate various kinds of situations. Most carpenters and woodworkers will have a wide assortment of shakomans.
