Oshibuchi (押し縁) – literally translated as “push-framing”, oshibuchi are generally thin sticks of trimming used to hold or secure another object/s such as glass or Japanese wooden clapboard by “pressing” up against and sandwiching them either between 2 sets of oshibuchi, or other framing. In the case of the clapboard, it is often notched to match the zig-zag shape of the overlapping boards.
