Karidome

Karidome (仮止め) – temporary fastening, as opposed to honjime. This is the technique of temporarily fastening stock or other materials in key positions and locations so you can jump to the next phase of construction. Karisuji is an example of this. Note the prefix “kari” — which means temporary — is used in both words.
