Irisumi (入り隅) – the corner where two walls meet forming an internal angle — in most cases a 90 degree angle — as opposed to “dezumi“, which is a corner with an external angle. Irisumi is also used to refer to stock that is vertically secured to all would-be corners so as to create a foundation to which sheetrock can be screwed. Irisumi is highlighted in blue when viewed from the lower right-hand corner of the image, with dezumi highlighted in red.
