Dodai-shiki


Dodai-shiki (土台敷き) (in the context of conventional wooden houses here in Japan) – the laying of the dodai. Dodai-shiki starts with sumidashi followed by drilling holes in the dodai for the anchor bolts, cutting and placing of kisopakkin, bolting dodai down, installing insulation, and ends with the laying and honjime of the first floor yukaban.
