Bakabou (馬鹿棒) – a yardstick often made onsite for a specific measurement used repetitively. For example, if your floor is level, you can use a bakabou whose length is equal to the distance between floor and ceiling to mark points along the wall perimeter. You then use an ink line to connect the points. This is simpler and quicker than using a measuring tape. It goes without saying that both ends should be square and it must stand plumb for an accurate measurement.
